Chickamauga Battles

The first major battle of the Civil War was fought in Georgia, from September the 18th-20th 1863. The Battle of Chickamauga was the most important Union defeat within the western theatre and had the second highest variety of casualties of any civil war battle, after the Battle of Gettysburg. The military of the Cumberland underneath Major General William Rosecrans engaged the Confederate Army of Tennessee beneath General Braxton Bragg.
In early September Rosecrans had pressured Bragg's army out of Chattanooga and was following them south. Bragg in an attempt to reoccupy Chattanooga determined to satisfy part of Rosecrans army and defeat them, allowing him to maneuver back into town. On the way north he bumped into the Union army.
This recreation consists of numerous missions, every of which, tackles a key part of the general battle. The final mission is a refight of the entire battle in a single sport. As the entire battle was fought over an unlimited area this ultimate mission is at a different scale than the more detailed particular person actions.
